Transport Planner

About The Role
Please Note this role is a 6 Month Fixed Term Contract.
We're looking for a highly organised and proactive Transport Planner to join our team. In this fast-paced role, you'll be responsible for planning and coordinating efficient delivery routes, ensuring drivers are utilised effectively while delivering an exceptional service to patients.

As a key member of the transport team, you'll balance operational efficiency with patient needs, helping to ensure deliveries are completed safely, on time, and in the most cost-effective way possible.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and coordinate daily delivery routes to maximise efficiency and service levels.

Optimise driver schedules and available resources to ensure timely patient deliveries.

Monitor and adjust delivery plans in response to operational changes and priorities.

Maintain accurate records, reports, and planning systems to a high standard.

Work closely with drivers and operational teams to resolve delivery challenges proactively.

Analyse transport data and identify opportunities to improve performance and reduce costs.

Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing patient service and operational efficiency.

Build strong working relationships with colleagues across the business to ensure excellent service delivery.
About You
To be successful in this role, you'll have:

Previous experience in transport planning, logistics, routing, or scheduling.

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Confidence using planning systems, Microsoft Office, and transport management software.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.

A proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset.
