  • About The Role

    • Lloyds Clinical is seeking a compassionate and detail‑oriented Bank Healthcare Assistant to support our Oncology Homecare Team, delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred care to cancer patients in the comfort of their own homes.

This is a rewarding opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant who is passionate about oncology care and values building meaningful, supportive relationships with patients during a critical time in their treatment journey. Bank working offers flexibility while allowing you to make a genuine difference to patients receiving cancer treatment at home.

This is a field-based role, requiring regular travel to patients’ homes within the community. A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential to fulfil the requirements of this position.

      The Role

As a Bank Healthcare Assistant working within our Oncology service, you will play a vital role in supporting patients undergoing cancer treatment outside of a hospital setting. You will work closely with our clinical teams to deliver hands‑on care during home visits, ensuring patients feel safe, supported, and reassured throughout their care journey.

Your contribution will have a direct and positive impact on patient experience, dignity, and clinical outcomes.

      Key Responsibilities

      • Support oncology patient home visits by assisting with clinical activities in line with individual care plans and agreed competencies
      • Deliver compassionate, safe, and professional care to cancer patients in their own homes at all times
      • Support the coordination and delivery of oncology care, helping to create a seamless, calm, and reassuring experience for patients and their families
      • Accurately record clinical activity and patient information to support ongoing treatment and continuity of care
      • Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, confidentiality, regulatory compliance, and clinical governance
      • Communicate clearly and empathetically with patients, sensitively supporting them throughout their cancer care journey
  • About You

    • You are a caring and conscientious Healthcare Assistant who understands the importance of empathy, dignity, and person‑centred care—particularly when supporting patients living with cancer. You are comfortable working in community settings and take pride in delivering safe, respectful, and high‑quality care in patients’ homes.

      You bring:

      • Phlebotomy skills, with the confidence to carry out procedures calmly, safely, and in line with clinical guidance
      • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
      • Excellent communication skills, enabling you to explain procedures clearly, listen attentively, and document accurately
      • An understanding of healthcare policies, regulatory standards, and relevant legislation, with a strong commitment to compliance and confidentiality
      • The ability to build trust and rapport, offering compassion, emotional intelligence, and reassurance to oncology patients and their families
      • Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in record‑keeping and adherence to care plans
      • A flexible and reliable approach, with the ability to work independently during home visits and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary oncology team
      • A genuine passion for patient care, particularly supporting individuals with complex and long‑term conditions
  • About Us

  • We pride ourselves on being an equal opportunities employer, committed to diversity & inclusion, taking a person-centred approach to our interview process that is fair and free from both discrimination and bias. If you have any reasonable adjustment needs arising from a disability or medical condition to fully participate in the recruitment process, please discuss this with our resourcing team
